Donors Support Continuing Education Scholarships
Through the generosity of our donors, the Ascension Genesys Foundation is able to offer three scholarships to our associates to help them reach their educational goals.
The Leonard A. McKinnon Memorial Scholarship Fund was established through a generous donation by Zelpha E. McKinnon in memory of her husband. The donation was given to provide Ascension Genesys employees with financial assistance to further their education within the field of health care. Scholarships are awarded annually in the months of August and December.
The Genesys Charity Classic is an annual premier golf and silent auction event which has raised over $2 million for the community since 1993. Proceeds From this event have established a scholarship fund which provides financial assistance to students pursuing careers in health care fields. Awarded two times per year, scholarship funds can support tuition, books, fees and other related approved educational expenses.
The Cathy Allen-Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 through donations of friends and family in memory of Cathy. This fund provides Ascension Genesys employees with financial assistance to further their education within the field of Health Information Technology/Health Information Management. One scholarship is awarded in the winter semester of each year.
